Acclaimed composer Mimis Plessas performed for a charity concert in Frankfurt hosted at the Alte Oper Frankfurt Benefiz in aid of the SOS Children’s Villages.
Alexandra Gravas, mezzo Soprano, was the one to initiate the idea of the concert. The talented soprano pumped up the crowd with her voice and lyrical performance. Gunther Emmerlich, the well-known opera singer was the host and sang accompanied by pianist Despina Apostolou.
The concert was held under the aegis of the Greek Community of Frankfurt. The Greek National Tourism Organization of Frankfurt was the main benefactor of the event. Among the people who attended the concert was the Secretary General for the National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Nikos Karahalios.
The German newspapers Offenbach Post and Frankfurter Neue Presse honored the famous Greek composer and Gravas with two appreciative articles.
ARD’s morning TV program covered the concert and the SOS Children’s Villages project as well.
